Lorraine received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi in 2002. She has 17 years of extensive full-cycle accounting experience, including bookkeeping, accounting, and financial statement preparation. She is a master of every state and federal tax filing necessary for our clients to remain compliant.
As the leader of our Accounting team, Lorraine is committed to accuracy and best practices when working with our clients’ numbers. She understands the necessity of accurate accounting compilations and functional reporting. Lorraine is a member of the National Association of Tax Preparers and is dedicated to maintaining her high level of knowledge and skills as an accountant. Her primary goal is to provide clients with the information they need to accurately benchmark their success and strategically plan for the financial future of their practices.
Kara D. Kelley, SHRM-CP
Business Development/HR Consultant
Kara has been a Business Development & HR Consultant at Parkhurst & Associates CPA PC since 2012. Her goal is to help dentists see how the non-financial side of their practice can impact the bottom line, and loves sharing her knowledge of the business side of dentistry.
In her work with dentists, Kara coaches clients to set strategic goals and develop business plans. She also works one-on-one with dentists to cultivate leadership skills and manage employees, establish compliant HR systems, develop policies and procedures, and manage turnover by developing competitive total rewards systems.
Kara is committed to educating dentists on business issues that can affect their practice. She authors several articles each year for dental newsletters and speaks at various events for professional dental organizations.
Kara holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional and active Member, a Member of the Austin Human Resource Management Association, holds a Veterans at Work certificate, and has ten years of experience developing leadership and management skills with business owners in various professions. She stays current on federal and state employment regulations through continuing education, study clubs, and annual TWC conferences.
Joining the firm in 2018 as the newest member of the Parkhurst team, Jennifer has 10+ of bookkeeping experience for small- to medium-sized businesses. She has served as Office/Accounting Manager in previous positions, managing accounting activity for up to $10 million in revenue.
Jennifer received her Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from Georgia State University and has been a resident of Central Texas since 2014. She is detail-oriented, a quick learner, and continues to increase the productivity of our Accounting department by a measurable amount.
