Tax Team

noemi-1-scaledNoemi L. Wilkinson, Tax Manager

Noemi holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a Master Degree in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas in Austin. Her experience includes five years holding positions such as Director of Operations and Senior Accountant with a large regional public accounting firm where she prepared complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations.

With a keen eye for detail, Noemi uses her knowledge in different industries to better serve her clients. She leads the accounting team at Parkhurst & Associates, ensuring clients are served to the best of the firm’s ability. Her considerable tax experience is an asset to the firm, and she is constantly looking to further her knowledge with continuing education.

Cris Faz, Tax Assistant

Cris has seven years of medical experience with extensive knowledge of the inner workings of a medical practice. His experience as an Operations Coordinator over four medical offices, gives him insight into the unique challenges medical practitioners face. His attention to detail and his understanding of the value of each client’s time motivate him to provide the most accurate and timely tax solutions. Cris continues to expand his knowledge and understanding of complex tax returns to provide exceptional service to his clients.

Alison Knotek, Bookkeeper

Alison has over 10 years of experience with accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll. She works with our clients who require these services, and provides outstanding service and a high level of professionalism. She leads our Accounting team, and serves dentists by creating functional accounting systems, ensuring they have clean numbers for accurate projections.

 

 

Karissa Barragan, Bookkeeper

Karissa has over 10 years’ experience in a variety of small business management roles. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2005 with a BS in Public Relations and a minor in Business Foundations. She started her career at Dell in their Small Business department, where she assisted business owners in finding the best technology solutions for their needs. Karissa then transitioned to restaurant and catering marketing and management. She has ample experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and benefits management, and sales and marketing. Karissa enjoys applying her dedication to clients and problem-solving skills as a Bookkeeper for Parkhurst & Associates.

Natasha Bernal, Bookkeeper

Natasha has 16 years of experience in Accounting for small- to medium-sized businesses in various industries, including the medical field and investment management. A native of Austin, TX, she is friendly, outgoing, and highly organized. She started her career working for a small Austin CPA firm, and fell in love with accounting. Natasha has spent her career working with CPAs and CFOs, and has experience in all areas of accounting, such as high volume Accounts Payable & Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, Sales Tax, Purchase Order Management, and all aspects of Payroll. She also spent five years as an Office Manager, expanding her range of skills. She is a valuable asset to the Parkhurst & Associates team.

HR & Business Development

Kara D. Kelley, Business Development Consultant

Kara has been with Parkhurst Consulting, now Parkhurst & Associates CPA PC, since 2012. She is a Business Development Consultant with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a concentration in Human Resource Management. She has nine years of experience developing leadership and management skills with business owners in various professions.

Kara’s goal is to help clients see how the non-financial side of their practice can affect the financial side, and provide direction for improvement when necessary. She coaches dentists and doctors to set strategic goals; improve processes; write business and marketing plans; cultivate leadership skills and manage employees; establish HR systems; develop policies and procedures; and reduce inefficiency in their practices. Kara stays current on Texas employment regulations through continuing education and annual TWC conferences.
